We’re going to use a little clever wordplay to boil down each movie in the Terminator series to its essence. Okay, most of these descriptions are more than one word, but I’m including them in the One-Word Film Reviews section because they’re along those lines. I hope you enjoy.
The Terminator – Terminate her
A robot from the future is here to kill a nice lady named Sarah Connor.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day – Terminate her, too
An even scarier robot is here to kill John Connor, and he’ll try to off the boy’s mother as a bonus.
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines – Terminate Ed
Edward Furlong played John Connor in T2, but he won’t be back.
Terminator Salvation – Term in state government
Arnold Schwarzenegger is busy as the governor of California, so he can’t appear in this sequel, replaced by a CGI copy. Don’t worry, he’ll be back.
Terminator Genisys – Indeterminate
Not sure where this story would have gone, but it’s an interesting attempt at a new direction.
Terminator: Dark Fate – Ex-terminator
After Skynet is destroyed and John Connor is dead, a killer robot from the future decides to put his terminator days behind him and let Sarah Connor do most of the work exterminating threats.
